What’s This All About Then?

Well, I’m a mother to two young boys, one of whom has ASD (autistic spectrum disorder). I’ve also worked for some time with children and adults on the Autistic Spectrum.

I’ve seen that once diagnosed, it is hard to know where to look for help and advice. You start hearing expressions such as ‘sensory overload’ and ‘visual timetables’. People get involved in your life with names that are only acronyms; SENCo, EP, SALT, OT, CAHMS…

This website is designed to give you a little more information about the professionals that may be involved with your child’s life and also some personal experiences from other parents, professionals and individuals on the Autistic Spectrum.

Over the next few weeks, I will uploading some interviews I’ve conducted, as well as putting together some useful information about autism itself.
