When my son was first diagnosed, I applied to go on the Early Bird course organised by the National Autistic Society. It was enlightening, and I learnt so many things about ASD and the difficulties a child with autism might have.
During the first session, they showed up this film A is for Autism.
It’s a short film made in 1992 by Tim Webb for the BBC. It includes excepts from interviews with adults and children who have a diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorder and it really highlighted to me the different perception that someone with autism can have and how overwhelming somethings can be for them.
